Corinthians miss CNRD deadline, Cuiabá ask to keep transfer ban and freeze revenues | OneFootball

According to Globo.com, Corinthians failed to meet the CNRD instalment deadline it had promised in a 16 June filing to the CBF, prompting Cuiabá to seek further measures.

On Tuesday the Mato Grosso club, the main creditor in the case, asked to keep the transfer ban in place, to impose a fine and to block and redirect CBF revenues or prize money owed to the São Paulo side.

In its CNRD submission, Cuiabá set out that Corinthians had already missed an approved schedule before making a date-specific commitment, then failed again. The sequence was described as incompatible with the exceptional trust underpinning a collective plan, citing default on the original obligation, a unilateral delay request, a promise to pay and breach of that promise.

The debt stands at a little over R$ 17 million, largely tied to the January 2024 signing of midfielder Raniele.

Corinthians remain without the funds to meet the plan’s instalments and have not set a timeframe to resolve the issue.

The club is in a severe financial crisis, recording a R$ 246 million deficit in the first half of this year, and is searching the market for solutions.
