Corinthians name new youth football executive to replace Alex Brasil

On Monday, the 20th, Corinthians officially announced the name of Alex Brasil's replacement as the executive of youth football. It is Erasmo Damiani, a well-known figure in the field, with experience in various clubs across the country and also with the Brazilian National Team, assisting in winning the Olympic gold at the 2016 Games.

Born in Florianópolis and holding a master's degree in Physical Education, Erasmo Damiani began his career as a fitness coach at Figueirense, where in 2004 he started working in the management of youth categories. Since then, he has accumulated work at Athletico-PR, Palmeiras, Internacional, Vitória, Atlético-MG, and Botafogo. At the Minas Gerais team, he assembled the squad that won the Under-17 Brazilian Championship in 2025.

Among Damiani's first challenges at the club are planning the youth categories for the 2026 season, which includes competing in the São Paulo Junior Football Cup in January. Additionally, it will be necessary to appoint a replacement for the Under-17 coach position, which was held until last week by the dismissed Raphael Laruccia.

“The Athlete Development Department of Sport Club Corinthians Paulista announces the hiring of Erasmo Damiani for the position of Executive of youth football.

‘We are very pleased to announce the hiring of Damiani. A highly qualified professional with vast experience and deep knowledge in the development and improvement of young sports talents,’ said President Osmar Stabile.

The new executive of Corinthians led the youth categories at the Brazilian Football Confederation, winning the gold medal with the Brazilian team at the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games in 2016.

With a master's degree in Physical Education, Damiani also coordinated the youth categories at clubs such as Athletico-PR, Internacional, Vitória, Atlético-MG, and Botafogo-RJ.”
