Corinthians ordered by court in Léo Natel’s FGTS deposits case

Sport Club Corinthians Paulista was condemned by the São Paulo Labor Court in a lawsuit filed by forward Léo Natel, currently with AEL Limassol, Cyprus, who demanded the regularization of deposits for the Severance Indemnity Fund (FGTS). The club can still appeal.

In the lawsuit, the 28-year-old player's defense attributed a value of R$ 508,000 to the case. However, the total amount Corinthians will have to pay will only be determined in the next stage of the process, known as the liquidation of the sentence.

The decision was signed last week by Judge Mariana Farias Santos, of the 11th Labor Court of the Eastern Zone. The forward filed the lawsuit in October 2025, claiming that there was no full collection of the FGTS during the period he was under contract with Corinthians, which ended in August 2024.

In their defense, the club's lawyers argued that during the periods the athlete was loaned to APOEL FC (Cyprus), Casa Pia A.C. (Portugal), and Melbourne City FC (Australia), the responsibility for labor charges would fall to the teams that received him.

The magistrate, however, concluded that Timão did not present sufficient documentation to prove the transfer of this obligation. With the sentence, Corinthians will have to make the overdue FGTS deposits, as well as pay fines and attorney fees.

Signed in mid-2020, Léo Natel had an unremarkable stint with the Alvinegro Paulista, playing 54 matches and scoring four goals during the period. During his contract with Corinthians, he accumulated loans to APOEL, Cyprus, Casa Pia, Portugal, and Melbourne City, Australia.
