Around 15 leaders from Corinthians’ main organised supporter groups went to the CT Joaquim Grava on Friday morning to speak with the squad and coaching staff and demand explanations for recent performances.

According to Globo.com, the group were allowed into the facility shortly after the session, the penultimate workout before Sunday’s match against Santos at Vila Belmiro in the sixth round of the Campeonato Brasileiro.

The pressure had begun in the stands at Neo Química Arena after Wednesday’s 2-0 defeat by Coritiba, when Corinthians squandered a chance to stay among the leaders following more than 10 days without a game.

Chants in Itaquera called for the players to honour the shirt and to show commitment, reflecting frustration with the team’s attitude.

Corinthians have seven points and have slipped to 10th in the league. They are winless in four matches and were also eliminated from the Campeonato Paulista by Novorizontino.
