Corinthians will decide their Copa Libertadores future on Thursday against Rosario Central at 21:30, needing to overcome a poor home record against Argentine visitors at Neo Química Arena.

According to Meu Timao, since 2014 Corinthians have hosted 13 Argentine opponents in Libertadores and Sudamericana, with four wins, five draws and four defeats, a 43.59% points return, scoring 15 and conceding 12.

The first such fixture came on 16 April 2015, a 0-0 draw with San Lorenzo in the Libertadores group stage, which secured last-16 qualification under Tite.

The early run brought three draws and one defeat from the first four encounters. The first win arrived in 2022, a 2-0 success over Boca Juniors on 26 April, when Maycon scored both under Vítor Pereira.

Other home wins came against Newell's Old Boys, Estudiantes and Argentinos Juniors. The latest was 4-0 on 14 May 2024, Yuri Alberto scored twice, Fausto Vera and Wesley added one each, sealing top spot in the Sudamericana group under António Oliveira.

Since then, Corinthians are winless at home against Argentine opposition, with two draws and one defeat. The loss was the most recent meeting, a 2-0 reverse to Platense on 27 May in the Libertadores group finale.

After last Thursday’s 0-0 first leg at the Estádio Gigante de Arroyito, Corinthians need a win to reach the quarter-finals. Another draw would send it to penalties. The winners face Estudiantes or Universidad Católica.
