Despite the deposit, outstanding obligations remain, including image rights, holidays and the bonus for clinching a place in the Conmebol Libertadores knockouts.

In a severe financial crisis, the club is seeking funds to lift two transfer bans from Fifa and another from the CBF over late CNRD (Câmara Nacional de Resolução de Disputas) instalments.

Behind the scenes, talks continue over a new deal for Dutch forward Memphis Depay, who is entitled to receive R$ 42 million after hitting targets and is willing to stagger the debt to aid his stay.

Despite the turmoil, the coaching staff insist the squad are committed and focused on the second half, which includes the Libertadores knockouts and a push for the Campeonato Brasileiro top four.

They face Rosario Central in Argentina on Thursday at 21:30, Brasília time, in the first leg of the Conmebol Libertadores round of 16.
