Corinthians beat Peñarol 2-0 at Neo Química Arena on Thursday, making it three wins from three in Group E of the Copa Libertadores.
According to Meu Timao, Conmebol pays 340,000 dollars per group-stage win, so the perfect first half has already brought in 1.02 million dollars, about R$ 5.1 million.
The run began with a 2-0 victory at Platense in Argentina, Kayke and Yuri Alberto scoring at Estadio Ciudad de Vicente López. It was followed by a 2-0 home win over Independiente Santa Fe, goals from Gustavo Henrique and Raniele. Against Peñarol, the goals came from Gustavo Henrique and Jesse Lingard.
Gate receipts from the two home ties, Santa Fe and Peñarol, total R$ 6.1 million. Across those matches, 82,647 fans attended at Neo Química Arena. Combined with prize money, the campaign has yielded about R$ 11.2 million, excluding operating costs.
Fernando Diniz's side lead Group E on nine points, with Platense on six. Santa Fe and Peñarol have one point each. One more win would secure a place in the last 16.
Focus now turns to the Campeonato Brasileiro, with Mirassol away on Sunday at 20:30 at Estádio Campos Maia in round 14.
