Corinthians players lauded Vasco duo Rayan and Andrés Gómez after sealing the Copa do Brasil title against Vasco, while also taking aim at Cauan Barros. Speaking on Podpah, they mixed praise with playful jibes.
The Dutchman Memphis shared a clip of Barros telling him to get up after a first-leg collision, then posted a second video of the Vasco midfielder being beaten by Breno Bidon. He urged humility in his captions and hailed Bidon’s skill.
Matheuzinho said Barros was a cheeky lad and noted the midfielder had shouted in Memphis’s ear during the tie.
Goalkeeper Hugo Souza was effusive about Rayan. “This kid plays a lot, he hits the ball very hard, he is one of the futures of Brazil.” He added that Vasco are strong from midfield onwards and singled out Léo Jardim, Coutinho, Nuno, Rayan and Andrés Gómez as very good players.
Raniele joked that Gómez never seemed to stop running. Hugo Souza added that the Colombian was still covering ground deep into 94 minutes.
