According to Meu Timao, Corinthians president Osmar Stabile has confirmed the club are close to signing Moroccan midfielder Zakaria Labyad, 32, while urging caution over any move for Flamengo’s Allan.

Stabile, speaking after the Supercopa do Brasil Feminina, said the club would not comment publicly on Allan before Sunday’s derby and indicated the Labyad agreement is virtually in place.

Asked about left-back Fabrizio Angileri, he said negotiations over a renewed deal had resumed, with only minor details to finalise before the Argentine returns to full training.

Angileri’s potential return has gathered pace after Hugo Farias suffered a right knee meniscus injury. He will undergo arthroscopy and faces an indefinite spell out.

Corinthians have confirmed four additions in this window, which remains open until March, bringing in centre-back Gabriel Paulista, full-back Pedro Milans, midfielder Matheus Pereira and forward Kaio César. The club are also close to reaching an agreement with goalkeeper João Ricardo.
