Corinthians beat Bahia 1-0 on Monday night to reach the Brasileirão Feminino final, sealing a 2-0 aggregate win. Jhonson scored the only goal in front of almost 10,000 at Neo Química Arena.

The victory extends the Brabas’ remarkable streak to 10 successive finals. Since 2017 they have contested every decider, winning seven titles and finishing runners-up twice.

The only season they missed the final was their debut in 2016, when they exited in the second phase. The run began by eliminating Rio Preto to reach the final, but they lost to Santos 2-0 and 1-0.

The first title arrived the following year, after a semi-final win over Flamengo and a final triumph against Rio Preto by 1-0 and 4-0. Another runners-up finish followed, this time to Ferroviária on penalties after 1-1 and 0-0 draws.

Since then, Corinthians have dominated the competition. From 2020 onwards they lifted further crowns, seeing off Kindermann, Palmeiras, Internacional, Ferroviária, São Paulo and, last year, Cruzeiro in the finals.

They return on Saturday for the first leg of this year’s final at 16:30 at Neo Química Arena. The second leg is on 3 October, also at 16:30, at Morumbis.
