Corinthians reach FIFA Women's Champions Cup final, land big prize

Corinthians started the 2026 season with a victory and international qualification. On the morning of this Wednesday (28th), the alvinegra team defeated Gotham FC from the United States, 1-0, in a match held at the GTech Community Stadium in London, valid for the semifinal of the FIFA Champions Cup, the first Women's Club World Cup. The decisive goal was scored by Gabi Zanotti in the final minutes of the match.

With the result, besides securing a spot in the final of the unprecedented tournament, the club also guaranteed significant financial revenue. Reaching the final of the Women's World Cup ensures Corinthians a minimum prize of US$ 1 million, which is approximately R$ 5.3 million in Brazilian currency.

The amount represents a significant increase compared to the initial value allocated to the teams participating in the Final Four of the competition. Before the match started, each of the four clubs qualified for the tournament, Corinthians, Gotham FC, Arsenal from England, and AS FAR from Morocco, had already secured US$ 200,000, about R$ 1.1 million in Brazilian currency.

The amount received by the Brazilian club can still grow. If they win the Champions Cup title, Corinthians will be entitled to an additional bonus of US$ 1.3 million, equivalent to approximately R$ 6.9 million in Brazilian currency. Thus, the total prize for the champion team can reach US$ 2.3 million, about R$ 12.2 million in Brazilian currency.
