Corinthians begin their Campeonato Paulista knockout campaign at Canindé against Portuguesa on Sunday at 20:30, returning to the quarter-finals for the 15th time this century.
According to Meu Timao, ticket sales are expected to open on Tuesday. The tie will be decided away, with Portuguesa having finished fourth in the overall table and Corinthians fifth.
The quarter-final stage stood alone in 2003, when the top eight progressed to the knockouts. The format was then dropped, with the competition moving straight to the semi-finals, before the quarters returned for good in 2011. Across that span, Corinthians missed the knockouts only in 2014 and 2024.
Since the current format was introduced, the club have played 13 quarter-finals and reached the semi-finals 11 times. The only exits in that run came in 2012 to Ponte Preta and in 2023 to Ituano.
In 2025, under Ramón Díaz, Corinthians beat Mirassol 2-0 in the quarters, with Memphis Depay and Ángel Romero on target. They then eliminated Santos in the semi-final and overcame Palmeiras in the final.
