Corinthians reach Paulista semi-finals, draw Novorizontino, open talks with Emily Lima

Corinthians sealed a place in the Campeonato Paulista semi-finals on Sunday night after a penalty shootout. They will face Novorizontino in the next round.

Off the pitch, according to Meu Timao, the club have opened talks with Emily Lima to take charge of the women's team following Lucas Piccinato's departure.

On the night, Corinthians fell behind before Vitinho equalised in stoppage time to force penalties. In the shootout, goalkeeper Hugo Souza again stood out to send Corinthians through.

Novorizontino advanced earlier on Sunday by defeating Santos. On the other side of the bracket, Palmeiras and São Paulo are contesting the other place in the final.

The Federação Paulista de Futebol will confirm the semi-final date in the coming hours.
