Corinthians ready to host Juventude, left-back previews clash

On the morning of this Saturday (6), Corinthians wrapped up preparations for their last match of this season's Brazilian Championship. The game, valid for the 38th round, takes place this Sunday (7), at 4pm (Brasília time), against Juventude at the Neo Química Arena. Timão is seeking a victory to end their campaign in the tournament on a positive note and head into the semifinals of the Copa do Brasil against Cruzeiro with confidence.

Under the guidance of coach Dorival Júnior, the squad made the final adjustments for the clash against the team from Rio Grande do Sul at CT Joaquim Grava, with an emphasis on tactical aspects and set pieces. The session also included strength training in the gym and featured some new developments, such as the return of right-back Matheuzinho and midfielder Charles, both cleared to play after serving suspensions in the previous round against Fortaleza.

Left-back Angileri also trained and, right after the session at the CT, spoke with Corinthians TV. The Argentine highlighted the importance of performing well this Sunday in Itaquera and the need to stay focused to finish the Brasileirão with a win:

“We know how to play well at home. So, I think we need to be very focused and highly motivated for the match. The goal is to finish in the best position possible; we have the chance to qualify for the Sudamericana. I believe it will be a very tough game and, as I said earlier, we need to stay calm and do things right on the field.”
