Corinthians have reinstated midfielder Alex Santana to the first-team squad. According to Globo.com, the 30-year-old will rejoin training on Monday.

He has not played for six months and had been working away from the main group since January, when he returned from a loan at Grêmio.

Previously out of Dorival Júnior’s plans, Santana will now be assessed by Fernando Diniz, who was appointed last week and has opted to give him a chance.

Signed in 2024, the midfielder lost ground at Corinthians last year and was loaned to Grêmio. He made 10 appearances there but did not stand out.

Santana’s contract with Corinthians runs until 31 December 2027.
