Corinthians held a neural mobilisation workshop for their football physiotherapists on Tuesday, coordinated by Bruno Gorgatte and delivered by physiotherapist and osteopath Gustavo Félix, a lecturer at the Instituto Docusse de Osteopatia e Terapia Manual, IDOT.

It took place in the Sala de Preleção Flexform at CT Dr. Joaquim Grava, with first-team and academy staff attending. The club said in a statement that the initiative is part of a wider upskilling drive by the medical department, encouraged by president Osmar Stabile and football executive Marcelo Paz.

Gorgatte has worked at Timão since 2001, became head of physiotherapy in 2013, and serves with the Seleção Brasileira. Félix graduated in Physiotherapy from Universidade Estadual Paulista and holds further osteopathy qualifications.

On his website, Félix outlines a focus on functional manual diagnosis and treatment for acute and chronic pain. He describes osteopathy as a manual therapy and treatment philosophy developed in the United States in the late 19th century by Andrew Taylor Still.

Osteopaths assess the body holistically to find mobility restrictions, then use manual techniques to restore movement, which may not match the pain site.

Corinthians currently have three players sidelined. Left-back Hugo Farias is treating a right knee lateral meniscus injury, forward Kaio César is recovering from a right hamstring problem, and Yuri Alberto has a grade 2 lesion of the left biceps femoris.

The trio will not be available to Dorival Júnior for Thursday’s trip to Athletico-PR at 19:30 in the second round of the Campeonato Brasileiro.
