Corinthians score late to win at RB Bragantino in Paulistão Feminino

Corinthians took to the field on the afternoon of Thursday, the 4th, to face Red Bull Bragantino at the Cícero de Souza Marques Stadium, for the eighth round of the Paulista Women's Championship qualifying phase and won 3-2, coming from behind, scoring twice in the final stretch of the match. The goals were scored by Letícia Monteiro, Ellen, and Gisela Robledo.

With this result, the Alvinegro increasingly isolates itself at the top of the state championship with 21 points – seven wins and one loss – 22 goals scored and five conceded. Resting most of the players in anticipation of the two final matches of the Brazilian Women's Championship, RB Bragantino applied initial pressure on the Brabas who, despite this, opened the scoring with Letícia Monteiro. However, the team from the interior of São Paulo scored twice in succession and ended the first half leading 2-1.

In the second half, coach Lucas Piccinato made some changes to the team, bringing in some key players, which raised the collective performance. As a result, the Alvinegro achieved the comeback and consequently the victory in injury time with goals from forwards Ellen and Gisela Robledo.

The Brabas started the match with the following team: Kemelli; Paulinha, Thais Regina, Letícia Teles, and Juliete; Juliana Passari (Ellen Cristine), Ivana Fuso (Duda Mineira), and Letícia Monteiro; Gisela Robledo, Eudimila, and Ariel Godoi (Letícia Santos). The bench had options like Nicole; Sophia, Letícia Santos, Dafhiny, Duda Mineira, Carol Melo, Hariadni, and Ellen Cristine.

Now, after defeating Red Bull Bragantino in the Paulista Championship, the Brabas shift their focus to the two final matches of the Brazilian Women's Championship. Next Sunday, September 7, at 10:30 am (Brasília time), they will face Cruzeiro in the first leg of the national competition's final. The match will take place at the Independência Stadium, Minas Gerais.
