Corinthians have secured a place in the Brasileirão Feminino quarter-finals with four games to spare. They sealed qualification before playing their round 14 fixture and now turn to maximising their regular-season position.
According to Meu Timao, Corinthians sit second on 31 points. The berth is safe because Grêmio, ninth with 21 after 14 matches, have only three left and can reach at most 30, so cannot catch them.
With progress assured, the focus shifts to finishing first. Top spot brings a quarter-final against the eighth-placed team and the advantage of deciding knockout ties at home.
If the phase ended today, Corinthians would meet Ferroviária, currently seventh, although the bracket could change with four fixtures still to come.
Corinthians can still reach 43 points. The run-in features Flamengo at Luso-Brasileiro, Santos at Canindé, Bahia at Arena Cajueiro, and Internacional at Fazendinha.
The first of those is on Monday at 18:30 against Flamengo. Victory, or even a draw, would restore top spot after São Paulo moved to 32 points with Saturday’s win.
