Corinthians lost 2-0 to Coritiba at Neo Química Arena on Wednesday night. The fifth-round setback dropped them five places in the Brasileirão table.
According to Meu Timao, they began the day third on seven points, behind São Paulo and Palmeiras, and now sit eighth after being overtaken by Athletico-PR, Fluminense, Flamengo, Coritiba and Bahia.
With more fixtures to come on Thursday, Corinthians could slide further, with four teams able to leapfrog them depending on results. With Grêmio facing Red Bull Bragantino, ninth and 10th respectively, at least one will move above them.
The loss was Dorival Júnior’s side’s second in the 2026 league, both as hosts, despite their opener against Bahia being staged in January at Vila Belmiro. Their record stands at two wins, one draw and two defeats.
Looking to end a four-match wait for a win, Corinthians return on Sunday to face Santos away at 16:00 in the sixth round.
