Corinthians were fined by the STJD on Monday after a marketing action in a Brasileirão Feminino match, when defender Thaís Regina displayed a Vizzela cosmetic.

According to Meu Timao, sponsor Vizzela said the product display during the pre-match protocol was not initiated, guided or requested by the company, and it would not comment on the STJD sanction.

The club received a R$ 10,000 fine. During the anthem before the game against Santos, Thaís Regina held up the Lip Oil Frozen Grape, a lip product from the partnership between Corinthians and Vizzela, to the SporTV camera.

The act fell under article 191, section III, of the Brazilian Sports Justice Code, relating to breaches of competition regulations. The penalty for such cases ranges from R$ 100 to R$ 100,000.

The main reason cited was the lack of authorisation from the CBF. Unapproved activations are treated as ambush marketing that seeks exposure at major events.

Lip Oil Frozen Grape is the second product from the Corinthians and Vizzela tie-up. The first was a personalised make-up bag for the women's team with four other cosmetics, which is currently unavailable on the official website.
