Corinthians stars feature for Brazil in friendly against England

On the afternoon of this Saturday, October 25, the Brazil Women’s National Team faced England in a friendly match as preparation for the 2027 Women’s World Cup, in Manchester, and won by a score of 2-1. The Amarelinha was represented by three Corinthians athletes: defender Mariza and midfielder Duda Sampaio started as starters, and defender Thaís Ferreira came on in the second half.

Coach Arthur Elias fielded the following lineup to start the match: Lorena; Tarciane, Mariza, Isa Hass, and Yasmin; Angelina, Duda Sampaio, and Luany; Ludmila, Bia Zaneratto, and Dudinha. Brazil’s goals were scored by Bia Zaneratto and Dudinha. Corinthians midfielder Duda Sampaio wore the number 10 jersey.

According to Sofascore, Duda Sampaio posted the following numbers in the match: one big chance created, two key passes, 3/4 accurate crosses, 10/16 accurate passes (63%), 11/16 passes in the opposition half (69%), 2/4 passes in her own half, 2/6 accurate long balls (33%). Her rating was 7.5.

Meanwhile, Mariza tallied, in 90 minutes: 1/2 tackles won, six clearances, one interception, one ball recovery, 2/9 aerial duels won, and 1/1 ground duels won. Her rating was 6.6. Thais Ferreira came on at the 17th minute of the second half and recorded three interceptions, three clearances, and 1/2 aerial duels won.

Now, the Amarelinha will return to the field only next Tuesday, October 28, at 1:15 p.m. (Brasília time), in Parma (Italy), to face the local team.
