Corinthians have begun preparations for the Campeonato Paulista semi-final against Novorizontino, with Kaio César taking part in a portion of Thursday's session as he recovers from a muscle injury. The club said he remains in the recovery phase.

Three weeks after hurting his right hamstring, the 22-year-old joined part of the work set for players who logged under 45 minutes against Cruzeiro at CT Joaquim Grava. The match, in the fourth round of the Campeonato Brasileiro on Wednesday night at Mineirão, finished 1-1.

Yuri Alberto and Matheus Pereira continue treatment for grade 2 injuries to the left biceps femoris.

Players with limited or no minutes began with gym activation and a warm-up on the pitch, then moved to a possession drill and a small-sided game. Penalties were also practised late in the session.

Those who played more than 45 minutes in Belo Horizonte completed recovery work indoors.

Head coach Dorival Júnior named a largely second-string side on Wednesday with Saturday in mind. Corinthians have one more training session on Friday afternoon before travelling to Novo Horizonte for the tie at Estádio Dr. Jorge Ismael de Biasi, which kicks off at 20:30, Brasília time.
