Corinthians’ advisory council has unanimously urged a partial vote on the club’s statute reform, limiting Monday’s ballot to standout topics at Parque São Jorge. The decision comes ahead of the scheduled vote on nine March.

According to Globo.com, the Conselho de Orientação, CORI, met on Thursday night and proposed restricting the process to key items aligned with the current statute.

The issues earmarked for voting are the Fiel Torcedor’s right to vote, women’s participation, the election system for club councillors, and the period of member contributions required to vote.

The voting format will be set in the coming hours by the president of the Deliberative Council, Romeu Tuma Júnior. CORI sent him a formal letter on Friday confirming its recommendation.

Some council members feel Tuma Júnior engaged them too little in shaping the new statute. He believes he provided sufficient time and space for discussions at Parque São Jorge.

Beyond triennial members who rotate each political cycle, CORI is chaired by Miguel Marques e Silva and includes ex officio members such as former presidents Mário Gobbi, Duilio Monteiro Alves, Roberto de Andrade and Andrés Sanchez.

After the councillors vote, Tuma Júnior will call a general assembly for associates to decide on the wider reform. This should take place in April, on a date yet to be set.
