Corinthians have intensified their pursuit of a striker for the 2026 season, with coach Dorival Júnior identifying the position as a priority.
Among the names suggested is Rony of Atlético Mineiro, formerly of Palmeiras, but there are no talks under way to sign the 30-year-old, according to Meu Timao.
Corinthians have also monitored Júnior Santos, another Atlético Mineiro forward. The board looked at a loan to avoid a transfer fee. Other options put forward include Vitinho of Tijuana.
Talks are well advanced for Kaio César, who is tied to Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia. The young forward could arrive next week to bolster Dorival’s attack.
The current attacking group features Gui Negão, Yuri Alberto, Memphis Depay, Kayke, Vitinho and Pedro Raul. Talles Magno and Ángel Romero left at the turn of the year after contracts were not renewed.
Corinthians have already added centre-back Gabriel Paulista, midfielder Matheus Pereira and Uruguayan right-back Pedro Milans. They also have an agreement in place to sign goalkeeper João Ricardo from Fortaleza.
