According to Meu Timao, Corinthians are struggling to advance a new deal for forward Gisela Robledo, with finances blocking progress.
Talks began in May and her contract runs to 31 August. The club want to keep the 23-year-old amid interest from abroad.
Her camp are seeking a project that supports her development and offers greater prominence. That does not mean she will depart, but agreement remains difficult.
Under FIFA rules she can already sign a pre-contract elsewhere with fewer than six months left. Without a renewal, she could move for free from September.
She is not the only concern, seven other players in the women’s squad have deals only until the end of the year and can also pre-contract. The club are proceeding cautiously.
With finances tight, leadership of the women’s team have focused on other priorities. Despite income from Fatal Fans sponsorship, funds are being directed mainly to debt payments, pausing, for example, a potential return for forward Gabi Nunes.
Robledo joined in August 2024 from Tenerife after spells with Atlas, América de Cali and Independiente Santa Fe. She has made 55 appearances, scoring four and assisting seven, and has won three trophies. She is the club’s most-used foreign player.
Emily Lima’s side face Ferroviária on Friday 17 at 19:00 at Fazendinha, in the fourth round of the Paulistão Feminino.
