Corinthians lost the 2026 Brasileirão Feminino final 3-2 on aggregate to São Paulo, confirming a fourth successive runners-up finish. According to Meu Timao, it is the club’s longest such run since the women’s team was reactivated in 2016.
Saturday’s second leg finished 1-1 at Morumbi. Having lost the first meeting 2-1, Emily Lima’s side could not overturn the deficit.
The sequence began in the 2025 Campeonato Paulista, when Palmeiras won the State final. Corinthians were beaten 5-1 in the first leg on 7 December at Arena Barueri, and a 1-0 win in the return was not enough.
On 1 February 2026, they were edged 3-2 by Arsenal in the Copa das Campeãs da Fifa final at the Emirates Stadium in London.
Six days later came another final against Palmeiras, in the Supercopa Feminina at Arena Barueri. It finished 1-1 after normal time, and Palmeiras won 5-4 on penalties, a defeat that contributed to coach Lucas Piccinato’s dismissal in February.
Those setbacks made it three finals lost in a row heading into the national decider.
Their last trophy in a final came in the 2025 Libertadores Feminina, when they drew 0-0 with Deportivo Cali on 18 October in Argentina and prevailed 5-3 on penalties.
The next chance to halt the run is the 2026 Libertadores Feminina. Corinthians face Colo-Colo at 17:00 on 15 October at Estádio Casa Blanca in Quito in Group A, with the final set for 31 October in Ecuador as they chase a seventh crown.
