Corinthians have terminated Spanish striker Héctor Hernández’s contract, projecting a R$ 4.8 million saving on the men’s wage bill after the amicable split on Tuesday.

"There was no justification at all. But when the time comes, which I believe will come, I will speak and explain everything that happened, and that is it. Here you lose three or four games and they want to change everything. At Corinthians they even changed the president. That keeps the instability, which is not good, because you always see new people at the club and you are like, 'What is going on here?'" he told Marca at the time.

Héctor arrived in 2024, made 24 appearances, scored two goals and was part of Paulista and 2025 Copa do Brasil title wins.

His deal had run to 31 December 2026, but he had been separated from the squad since August last year.

Without the Spaniard, Corinthians now have only Yuri Alberto, Pedro Raul and Gui Negão available to lead the line.

Centre-back Renato and midfielder Alex Santana remain separated from the squad, training at different times and not in Dorival Júnior’s plans.
