Corinthians to be officiated by Paraná’s Lucas Paulo Torezin again after almost two years | OneFootball

Corinthians visit Grêmio at 17:30 on Saturday at Arena do Grêmio, Porto Alegre, in the 18th round of the Brasileirão, the final fixture before the World Cup break. According to Meu Timao, Paraná official Lucas Paulo Torezin will take charge.

Torezin has a brief history with Corinthians, overseeing three matches, one win and two draws, all in 2024. The first was on 22 May in the Copa do Brasil, a 2-1 win over América de Natal.

He then handled two league games, the 1-1 draw with Juventude and the 2-2 against Internacional. Disciplinary-wise, he has shown nine yellow cards to Corinthians players, an average of three per game, and no reds.

The officials appointed are assistant 1 Luanderson Lima dos Santos of Bahia and assistant 2 Andrey Luiz de Freitas of Paraná. The fourth official is Yuri Elino Ferreira da Cruz of Rio de Janeiro, with Marco Aurelio Augusto Fazekas Ferreira of Minas Gerais on VAR duty.

Corinthians sit 15th on 21 points, three ahead of Santos, who occupy the first relegation place. Grêmio are 16th, also on 21, making this a direct battle to pull clear of the drop zone.
