Corinthians could welcome Breno Bidon back for Sunday’s Paulistão quarter-final against Portuguesa, with Fabrizio Angileri also in contention. ge.globo reports that the midfielder could be available to Dorival Júnior for the knockout tie.
Bidon has completed his physical transition and been cleared by the medical staff, and he turns 21 on Friday. Corinthians have only two days to prepare after Thursday’s Brasileirão win over Athletico Paranaense.
He missed the last three matches, against Red Bull Bragantino, São Bernardo and Athletico, after a right hamstring strain sustained during the derby with Palmeiras earlier this month. Wearing number seven, he is among the team’s joint second-top scorers in 2026 with two goals in eight appearances.
The club are also working to include left-back Angileri in a matchday squad for the first time since his return at the start of the month. He has trained regularly at CT Joaquim Grava since his announcement, but is still regaining fitness after missing pre-season.
For now, Dorival Júnior’s only specialist left-back is Matheus Bidu. Hugo Farias underwent a meniscal suture for a bucket-handle lateral meniscus injury, with a return estimated at four to six months.
In attack, Kaio César is in physical transition after a right thigh issue, while Yuri Alberto is recovering from a grade two left hamstring injury. Midfielder Matheus Pereira, who came off in pain against Athletico, is yet to have his situation updated.
The quarter-final is scheduled for 20:30 on Sunday at Canindé. If the match is drawn, it will go to penalties.
