Corinthians are in talks with Botafogo over a deal for Arthur Cabral that could see Pedro Raul move the other way, Gazeta reports. Discussions remain active.
Talks are being held before the exception window closes on Friday, 27 March, which permits signings of players who featured in early-2026 state competitions. No agreement yet.
The CBF has lifted the intra-Série A transfer cap from six to 12 league games, and both players have four, so they remain eligible.
Arthur, 27, joined Botafogo from Benfica in 2025 for €15 million, signing through December 2028. This year he has 12 appearances, one goal and one assist.
“I have known Arthur Cabral's career for a long time. He is on our monitoring list, but there is nothing very advanced at the moment. We value financial balance,” said Corinthians executive Marcelo Paz to ESPN.
Vitória and Remo have also explored loans for Pedro Raul, but Corinthians want any suitor to cover his salary in full.
He joined in February 2024 on a deal to 31 December 2028 for $5 million in four instalments. Payment delays triggered a renegotiation to at least $8 million, now spread across nine from 2025 to 2028.
He scored 18 goals in 51 games across Ceará and Corinthians in 2025. This year he has 12 outings, no goals and one assist, mostly from the bench under Dorival Júnior.
