According to Meu Timao, Corinthians have turned away European interest in right-back Matheuzinho and want to keep him until the World Cup.
He received a formal offer from a European club, which Corinthians turned down.
For the position, Corinthians have added Pedro Milans this season, signed on a free after his Peñarol contract expired. The club had lacked cover at right-back since August 2025 when Léo Mana left on loan.
Matheuzinho joined at the start of 2024 from Flamengo in a deal worth four million euros, around R$ 21.4 million at the time. In his first season he alternated with Fagner between the starting line-up and the bench.
In 2025, after a run of nine straight wins in the Campeonato Brasileiro, he established himself as first-choice under Ramón Díaz and remained a key figure for Dorival Júnior.
He has 118 appearances for Corinthians, 91 starts, with five goals and eight assists. With him on the pitch, the team recorded 50 wins, 32 draws and 36 defeats.
