Corinthians will discover their Copa do Brasil fifth-phase opponent on Monday, 23 March at 14:00, with the draw at CBF headquarters in Rio de Janeiro and live on CBF TV via YouTube.
According to Meu Timao, if the format mirrors recent years Corinthians will be seeded with other Brasileirão sides and national or regional champions such as the Copa do Nordeste and Copa Verde, facing qualifiers from earlier rounds. The fourth phase concludes on Thursday.
Now in its 38th edition, the competition has expanded from 92 to 126 clubs and from 122 to 155 matches. The format was reshaped from seven to nine phases, and Corinthians previously entered in the fourth phase when also in the Copa Libertadores.
Participation in the fifth phase is worth R$ 2 million to Corinthians. Prize money then rises to R$ 3 million in the round of 16, R$ 4 million in the quarter-finals and R$ 9 million in the semi-finals.
In the final, the runners-up receive R$ 34 million and the champions R$ 78 million, regardless of their initial grouping. The runners-up also now secure a Copa Libertadores berth from the preliminary stage, while the champions qualify directly for the group phase.
Corinthians are defending champions and are chasing back-to-back titles for the first time. In 2025 they knocked out Grêmio Novorizontino, Palmeiras, Athletico-PR, Cruzeiro and Vasco da Gama.
