Corinthians to net about R$ 700 mil from Santos’ Neo Química Arena rental | OneFootball

Santos will host Coritiba at Corinthians’ Neo Química Arena on Sunday at 11h in the 16th round of the Brasileirão. To use the ground they are paying R$ 950 mil, and Corinthians are set to net about R$ 700 mil after covering match operations, UOL Esporte reports.

Santos will keep all gate receipts. A full house is expected after 45,000 terrace tickets were announced as sold on Thursday. Only boxes and concessionary sectors remained, with 48,000 seats released in total.

To maximise attendance, the club also cut prices. In the North and South ends, half-price tickets were sold for R$ 30.

The fee matches January, when Santos also hired the Arena to face Red Bull Bragantino in the Campeonato Paulista.

At that time the clubs discussed Corinthians staging a game at Vila Belmiro. Santos charged R$ 300 mil for Corinthians v Bahia in the first round of the Brasileirão, again taking on operating costs, and Corinthians kept gate receipts of R$ 511.948,66.

While Santos are hosts in Itaquera, Corinthians travel to Rio de Janeiro to face Botafogo at 16h at Estádio Nilton Santos in the league.
