Corinthians returned to CT Dr. Joaquim Grava on Tuesday morning in heavy rain, stepping up preparations for Chapecoense on Sunday 6 in round 26 of the Brasileirão.

According to Meu Timao, after Monday off the session started with gym activation, then moved to the pitch for possession work plus crossing and finishing drills.

Players who featured for more than 45 minutes in Sunday’s defeat to Santos completed indoor recovery. The remainder took part in a full-sided game overseen by Fernando Diniz, with Under-20 starters involved.

Training continues on Wednesday morning and there will be four further sessions before the match.

The staff face more absences, with Gabriel Paulista, Raniele and Hugo Souza suspended after accumulating three yellow cards.

The treatment room also includes Yuri Alberto, in physical transition after a right thigh injury, André Ramalho with labyrinthitis and André Luiz with a grade 2 right thigh issue. Zakaria Labyad and Kayke have left knee ACL ruptures, while Vitinho is recovering from left knee meniscus surgery.

Midfielders André Carrillo, under workload management, and Jesse Lingard, following flu, rejoined team-mates on the grass after missing the derby.

Corinthians have lost three league matches in a row and sit 10th on 32 points. Kick-off against Chapecoense is at 19:30 at Neo Química Arena.
