Memphis Depay has started the physical transition phase in his recovery from a right thigh muscle injury that has kept him out for five weeks. He will remain sidelined for Thursday’s Conmebol Libertadores meeting with Peñarol at Neo Química Arena, kick-off 21:00 Brasília time.
According to Globo.com, the forward, injured on 22 March, worked with physiotherapy and performance staff at CT Joaquim Grava.
This is his longest lay-off since joining Corinthians. He suffered six injuries in 2025 and underwent treatment for pain at the start of this season. Since being replaced against Flamengo, he has missed eight matches, also a personal high.
Forward Gui Negão took part in partial group work as he edges closer to a return. He strained his right hamstring in late March and began his transition last week.
After a Monday off, Tuesday’s session opened with strength work in the gym and a warm-up on the pitch. Fernando Diniz then led positional build-up work with an emphasis on attacking organisation, using the time to trial a likely starting side.
Players who featured for more than 45 minutes in Sunday’s 1-0 win over Vasco in the Campeonato Brasileiro did indoor recovery. The others stayed out for a 10 versus 10 tactical exercise.
