Corinthians arrived in São José do Rio Preto on Saturday night for Sunday’s meeting with Mirassol at Estádio Maião, kick-off 20:30, in the 14th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro. According to Meu Timao, Fernando Diniz’s side travelled with a 23-man squad.

The headline inclusion is striker Gui Negão, back from a grade two right hamstring injury suffered in March while with Brazil under-20s. He had rejoined training last week and returns after nine games out. He is expected to start on the bench, with the starting attack expected to be Jesse Lingard and Yuri Alberto.

Teenage forward Nícollas Mello, 17, from the under-20s, is included in the senior squad for the first time.

Corinthians are without suspended quartet Matheuzinho, Gustavo Henrique, André Luiz and André Carrillo.

João Pedro Tchoca, Hugo Farias and Charles are in the treatment room, as are forwards Vitinho and Kayke. Memphis Depay remains in the final phase of his physical transition and is not yet available.

A win in the interior of São Paulo could lift Corinthians up the table. They began the round in 14th on 15 points and could climb to eighth with victory.

The delegation will stay at a hotel in São José do Rio Preto, a little over 16 kilometres from Estádio Maião, as the municipality has no airport.
