Corinthians Women have received a late boost for the inaugural women’s Club World Cup, with Paola Garcia, Day Rodr guez and Gisela Robledo granted UK visas and set to join the squad in London.

The club said in a statement that the trio will fly tonight to Europe, with arrival expected on Tuesday morning. Given the schedule, they are unlikely to take part in the final training session before facing Gotham FC on Wednesday.

The delay arose from their nationalities, which carry stricter UK entry requirements than for Brazil and Uruguay. Bel9n Aquino, from Uruguay, has been with the group since day one.

The UK allows entry either via ETA, a faster electronic travel authorisation, or a traditional visa. Colombia and Venezuela do not yet have the digital option.

All required procedures were completed for the players to enter the country, and the delay was down to UK diplomatic processes rather than the club9s legal department.

Corinthians face Gotham FC at 9:30 on Wednesday at the GTech Community Stadium in London, in the semi-final. Arsenal and AS FAR meet in the other tie for a place in the final.
