Corinthians U20 defender watches derby with supporters’ group

On the afternoon of this Sunday (15), Corinthians ended up drawing with Santos at Vila Belmiro, with a score of 1 x 1, in a match valid for the sixth round of the 2026 Brazilian Championship. The goal for the Alvinegro was scored by striker Memphis Depay, right at the start of the first half. The draw left the Corinthians team in sixth place with eight points – two wins, two draws, and two losses – six goals scored and six conceded.

Off the pitch, Corinthians’ U-20 defender Yago Melo watched the match directly from the Gaviões da Fiel court, the club’s main organized supporters group. The 19-year-old defender, recently signed to Corinthians’ youth team from Flamengo, where he spent eight seasons playing for the U-15 and U-17, watched the match alongside his father Alex Veloso – on social media, he even showed that his affection for the club has been there since childhood.

On his Instagram account, the young defender posted a video from the Gaviões da Fiel court with the following caption: “I love you Corinthians.” Currently, he competes for a spot with Iago Machado, Lorenzo Corrêa, and Levy Dias. So far, he has played three matches for the Alvinegro U-20, one of them as a starter – in the 3 x 1 victory over Grêmio in the third round of the category’s Brasileirão.

Timãozinho will return to the field on April 1st, at 3pm (Brasília time), at Estádio Alfredo Schürig, Fazendinha, for the fourth round of the Brazilian U-20 Championship. At the moment, the Filhos do Terrão occupy second place with seven points – two wins and one draw – nine goals scored and three conceded.
