Corinthians U20 thrash Aliança-GO, into Copinha Feminina quarters

The Corinthians Under-20 team returned to the field on the afternoon of this Wednesday (10). In a match valid for the third round of Group A of the São Paulo Women's Cup, the "Brabinhas" faced Aliança-GO, dominating throughout the game and achieving an important result by winning 7-1. The goals were scored by Dulce Maria (two), Helô Camargo (two), Rayane Pontes, Rafa Rodrigues, and Manu Teixeira.

With this result, the team reached 7 points, securing a spot in the quarter-finals of the competition. However, their next opponent depends on the result of the match that concludes this group stage between Flamengo and Criciúma, also in Group A. The "Alvinegro" can advance to the quarter-finals either as the leader of their group or as the second-best runner-up overall.

Coach Bia Vaz lined up the "Brabinhas" with a team consisting of Ana Morganti; Dulce Maria, Dany Pereira, Gaby, and Ester; Helô Camargo, Lara Mel, and Manu Olivan; Rafa Rodrigues, Raissa, and Rayane Pontes. Among the substitutes were Sophia Trindade; Brunna, Emelym, Julia Faria, Pepê, Dafhiny, Gabi Jordi, Manu Teixeira, and Glória Lira.

Corinthians started by dominating possession and quickly turned their control into a lead on the scoreboard. At 11 minutes, Dulce Maria scored the first with a placed shot from outside the area after a corner. At 19 minutes, Helô Camargo took advantage of a set-piece play to make it 2-0 for the "alvinegras".

The pressure continued, and at 25 minutes, Dulce Maria capitalized on a deflection from the defense to score the third. In the next attack, Rayane Pontes scored the fourth after a one-two with Helô Camargo. There was still time before the break for Helô Camargo to score Corinthians' fifth, following a finish from Dulce Maria.

In the second half, Aliança created one of their best chances early on, with Mhabya almost lobbing goalkeeper Ana Morganti. Shortly after, Timão had the chance to extend their lead from a penalty, but goalkeeper Heloísa saved Rafa Rodrigues' shot. However, the sixth goal came soon after, when at 21 minutes, Rafa Rodrigues took advantage of a rebound after the ball hit the crossbar.

Then, Aliança managed to score their consolation goal with a penalty converted by Mariana Pinheiro, and towards the end of the match, at 35 minutes, Emelym crossed from the left for Manu Teixeira to head in and score the seventh goal, sealing the 7-1 victory for Corinthians.
