Corinthians v Vasco in Copa do Brasil final, decider at Maracanã

Corinthians defeated Cruzeiro in the semifinals, winning on penalties with Hugo Souza as the star, and advanced to the Copa do Brasil final. In the final, they will face Vasco da Gama in two matches, which will take place next Wednesday and Sunday, with times and venues already set by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF).

As pre-defined before the semifinals, the second leg will take place in Rio de Janeiro. Thus, the first leg will be hosted by Corinthians at Neo Química Arena, starting at 9:30 PM (Brasília time) on Wednesday (17th).

The trophy match, which will decide the 2025 edition champion, is set for Sunday, as previously mentioned, at Estádio Jornalista Mário Filho, the Maracanã, with Vasco da Gama as the home team, starting at 6:30 PM. 25 years after the World Cup, the teams meet again at the temple of football for another title.

Just like Corinthians, Vasco qualified after defeating Fluminense away, losing the second leg by one goal, and securing their spot in the penalty shootout.

This is the first time the teams face each other in a knockout match since the 2012 Libertadores quarterfinals. On that occasion, the clubs drew in the first leg at São Januário, and Corinthians won 1-0 in the return leg at Pacaembu, with a goal from Paulinho and an unforgettable save by Cássio.
