Brazil's transfer window opens on Monday, but Corinthians remain under a transfer ban and are watching the market from the sidelines.

The window runs until 3 March, and players who terminate contracts before the deadline may still be registered afterwards. According to Meu Timao, the club cannot add new signings for now but is free to negotiate departures, and most leading leagues in Europe and Asia are already trading.

Corinthians project at least R$ 151 million in 2026 from sell-on and economic rights. The main hopes for income are midfielder Breno Bidon and forward Gui Negão, who have drawn overseas interest, with the latter in talks with Zenit of Russia.

To lift the FIFA embargo, Corinthians must pay R$ 40 million to Santos Laguna of Mexico for the signing of Ecuadorian defender Félix Torres, with the Mexican side demanding the full amount and refusing instalments.

Separately, a national registration block from the CNRD followed a delayed instalment linked to debts with other clubs. The body will only remove the block if Corinthians demonstrate a change of approach and pay the instalment due on 17 January.

In parallel, the club faces further cases at the Court of Arbitration for Sport that could bring new sanctions. They recently reached an agreement with the camp of Paraguayan midfielder Matías Rojas to avert another ban and have paid the first instalment on a R$ 41 million debt.

If the outstanding sums to Santos Laguna and the CNRD are not settled, Corinthians will be unable to register signings in this window. They would only return to the market for purchases from 20 July.
