With Matheus Bidu managing pubic pain and uncertainty, Corinthians may be forced to turn to their reserves in the run-in. Their back-up left-backs, Fabrizio Angileri on 800 minutes and Hugo Farias on 194, have combined for 994 in 2026, well short of the starter’s workload.

There is internal concern he could be dealing with an inguinal hernia that may require surgery. ESPN initially reported the plan is to delay any operation until the end of the season, given a 4-8 week recovery timeline.

Angileri, 32, has 14 appearances, nine starts and one goal. He started the 13 September Brasileirão defeat to Flamengo and featured twice more this half-year, against Bahia and Coritiba. His contract runs to the end of the season after a renewal impasse was resolved in February.

Hugo Farias, 29, has only three outings, all starts, with his last on 5 February in the Paulistão win over Capivariano. That appearance lasted 36 minutes before a lateral meniscus rupture in his right knee and subsequent surgery. He returned to squads in early August and has been unused four times under Fernando Diniz, while he, Alex Santana and Vitinho have not featured this half-season.

Bidu has amassed 3,666 official minutes this year, the fourth highest in the squad, behind Hugo Souza, Gustavo Henrique and Matheuzinho.

He has 45 appearances, six goals and three assists this season, and is expected to be an option to face Internacional at Beira-Rio on Wednesday 7 at 19:30 in the Brasileirão’s 29th round.
