Corinthians are weighing the possibility of strengthening their goalkeeping options with the addition of Kewin, currently with Moreirense in Portugal. The 30-year-old Brazilian, who developed at Red Bull Brasil before stints at Bragantino and Mirassol, has spent the last five seasons in Portuguese football. Set to become a free agent on July 1 as his contract expires, Kewin could join Corinthians without a transfer fee.
The idea of bringing in Kewin has been presented to Corinthians’ technical staff and board, but a final move hinges on the approval of coach Dorival Júnior. Discussions are ongoing over whether there is a need to pursue a new backup for Hugo Souza or if the club should continue investing in current options. Views are split within the club—some feel Matheus Donelli has not capitalized on his chances this season and should revert to a third-choice role, while others believe the homegrown talent merits further time to establish himself.
Kewin stands at 1.89m and brings considerable experience from his time at Moreirense, having made 110 appearances for the club. This season, he featured in 29 games and conceded 42 goals, giving him an average of 1.45 goals per match—figures recorded as Moreirense finished mid-table, tenth in the Portuguese league, distanced from both relegation battles and competition for European spots. Moreirense have already decided not to renew Kewin’s contract, making his summer move a logistical formality if Corinthians elect to proceed.
The offer was first reported by Portuguese media and confirmed by ge, with the situation now under formal review by Corinthians’ sporting direction.
At a time of significant off-field uncertainty—including a looming impeachment vote for club president Augusto Melo—player recruitment remains under close scrutiny. The outcome of these internal evaluations could shape the squad’s make-up for the remainder of the campaign, as both leadership and the technical team assess how best to support Dorival Júnior’s plans.
