Corinthians Women banking on regular wins in 2025 for Paulistão comeback

On the morning of this Sunday (14th), at 10 am (Brasília time), Corinthians will host Palmeiras at the Canindé Stadium for the second leg of the final of the Women's Paulista Championship. In the first match, held last Sunday (7th) at Arena Barueri, Alviverde won by a score of 5 x 1.

To overturn the rival's advantage, Corinthians relies on their overall record against their archrival in historical retrospect – in this case, this alone is not enough, besides having won six matches by four or more goals difference in the 2025 season. Regarding the overall numbers of the confrontation, there are 21 victories for the Brabas, six draws, and 11 losses – 73 goals scored and 39 conceded.

Throughout history, Corinthians has had two significant victories over Palmeiras that would grant them the title or take the Paulista Women's Championship to penalties. In 2022, in the semifinal of the national championship of the modality, the Brabas defeated their rivals 4 x 0 at Allianz Parque – with this score, the winner would be decided on penalties. The following year, in the semifinal of the Paulista Championship, Alvinegro inflicted a ruthless 8 x 0 score on Palmeiras – they would be the state champions of 2025, advancing to the state final, where they were crowned champions over São Paulo.

In the current season, six of Corinthians' victories were by four or more goals difference. They are: Real Brasília 2 x 8 Corinthians (Brasileirão 2025), Corinthians 8 x 0 3B da Amazônia (Brasileirão 2025), Corinthians 5 x 1 Bahia (Brasileirão), Corinthians 5 x 1 Taubaté (Paulistão), Internacional 0 x 5 Corinthians (Brasileirão), and Corinthians 11 x 0 Always Ready (Libertadores). The last two would directly give the title to the Brabas, without needing penalty kicks.

In the first phase, Corinthians had the best campaign, totaling 35 points in 14 matches (11 wins, 2 draws, and one loss – 32 goals scored and six conceded). In the semifinals, the Brabas dispatched São Paulo by winning both matches 2 x 1, at Arena Barueri and Neo Química Arena, respectively.
