Corinthians Women face Gotham FC in London, seeking better record v US teams | OneFootball

Corinthians Women begin their 2026 campaign on Wednesday morning against Gotham FC at the GTech Community Stadium in London, a FIFA Champions Cup semi-final in the first women’s club World Cup. It is the most significant competition the club have contested in the women’s game.

According to Meu Timao, it will be their fourth meeting with a US side, with the Brabas currently on one win, one draw and one defeat, and goals level at 2-2.

The first came on 22/5/2009, a 0-0 friendly with Penn State Nittany Lions at the Parque Ecológico do Tietê, now CT Dr Joaquim Grava, in São Paulo. That squad belonged to an earlier era, operating as Corinthians/São Caetano/Unip in 2008-2009.

On 12/7/2025, Corinthians beat Chicago Stars 1-0 in the Teal Rising Cup semi-final at the CPKC Stadium in Kansas City. Shorthanded by Copa América call-ups, they edged it late when Letícia Teles headed in from an Andressa Alves delivery at 46 minutes.

Three days later they lost the final 2-1 to hosts Kansas City Current at the same venue, the NWSL side having reached the decider after beating Palmeiras 3-0. Kansas struck twice before 20 minutes, Gabi Zanotti replied, and Jaqueline later hit the post as the hosts held on.
