Corinthians’ women lost their head-to-head advantage over US opposition after a 2-1 defeat to Kansas City Current in Thursday’s Teal Rising Cup semi-final.

Meu Timao notes these fixtures span every era of the women’s programme since 1997. The first meeting came 17 years ago, a 0-0 friendly with Penn State Nittany Lions at Parque Ecológico do Tietê.

The remaining four games have come recently. In July 2025 the Brabas were invited to the inaugural Teal Rising Cup, beat Chicago Stars 1-0 in the semi-final, then lost the final 2-1 to the hosts, Kansas City Current.

In England this January, at the Copa das Campeãs da Fifa finals, Corinthians beat Gotham FC 1-0 in the semi-final and finished runners-up after a 3-2 defeat to Arsenal in the decider.

Across the five matches the record stands at two wins, one draw and two defeats, with four scored and four conceded. Next up is the third-place play-off in the Teal Rising Cup against América of Mexico at 17:00 on Sunday.
