There are still a few days until Sergio Conceicao has to make his final Coppa Italia lineup choices, but the AC Milan coach is already theorising a plan.
If Milan win on Wednesday, they will play in Europe next year. Failing to do so will have a substantial effect on things, and the Rossoneri cannot afford to take that risk. So, the strongest team must be fielded, ready to deliver for the Diavolo.
One decision is seemingly more challenging than the rest, and it regards the starting striker, where Conceicao is still on the fence about his leading man – a choice between Santiago Gimenez and Luka Jovic.
As Corriere dello Sport write, via Milan News, the Portuguese should not move away from the 3-4-3 that has brought success in recent weeks, so it seems unlikely that both should start. So, who will?
Well, it seems that Gimenez is currently the leading choice after his recent resurgence, providing four contributions in his past three games. Should this be the case, Conceicao plans to launch the Gimenez-Pulisic strike force.
The report states that the North American duo could form the Milanese assault on the Coppa Italia, though they will also have the support from Rafael Leao, who should return.
