Vladimír Coufal sees himself extending his contract at TSG Hoffenheim beyond the end of the season. The Bundesliga outfit signed the Czech international on a one-year deal in the summer after the end of his time at West Ham United.

"We're in talks," the 33-year-old defender said regarding contract discussions with Hoffenheim’s hierarchy. "From a football point of view, I would like to stay. But there are some other aspects, such as my family.

“They are living in Prague, which is the best option for my children's education. My son also plays in the junior academy of Slavia Prague. I commute as often as I can, or they come to visit me. But we only planned that option for a year.”

Coufal has been a huge success in the Bundesliga as he helped the club finish Hinrunde in fifth place. The fullback started all 15 games, and was directly involved in five goals.
