Oscar Schwartau has been dubbed Norwich City's most exciting young talent, and he's been tipped for the top thanks to his ability and physical characteristics.

Schwartau joined the Canaries from Danish side Brøndby in the summer, with compatriot Johannes Hoff Thorup quick to bring him to Carrow Road after seeing what he was capable of in the Danish Superliga last season.

The 18-year-old hasn't started all too regularly for Norwich this season, starting seven of the 16 Championship games he's featured in, but it must be remembered that he's only young, and his time will come.

Throup has managed the youngster to ensure he doesn't play too much Championship football before he's ready, and with a four-year deal it's likely that Schwartau will play a lot of football for the Canaries in the years to come, and he's been tipped for big things.

We asked our Norwich City fan pundit, Zeke Downes, who the most exciting young player at Norwich City is, and he feels that Schwartau is an exciting player who will make a big impact for the club in the coming years.

Speaking to Football League World, Zeke said: "I think the most exciting young player for us is probably Oscar Schwartau.

"For a player who is as young as he is, he’s starting to look really good. We’re not trying to overuse him as well, because there’s been a period where we’ve been a bit limited for players in midfield, but I think Thorup is reluctant to overuse him at an early stage.

"He looks like he could be the real deal. He’s tall, strong, really good on the ball, so I’m looking forward to how he progresses in the next two or three years."

The Canaries forked out a reported fee of £2million to bring the youngster to Carrow Road, a hefty fee for an 18-year-old, and on early evidence it looks like money well-spent.

Norwich haven't seen the best of Schwartau just yet, as he hasn't reached his full potential, but with a four-year deal, you can expect him to improve year-on-year, becoming a big player.

Schwartau has all the physical attributes to be a success, and Thorup deserves credit for managing his development instead of throwing him in at the deep end.
