Salzburger Nachrichten suggests Jürgen Klopp could leave his Red Bull Head of Global Soccer role this summer, with departing Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner viewed as a leading candidate to succeed him.

The Austrian outlet, which first reported Klopp’s appointment last year, says sporting progress has been underwhelming and that neither party is fully satisfied, so a separation is possible. It also names Glasner as favourite if Klopp departs.

Klopp’s agent, Marc Kosicke, has dismissed the story to ntv/RTL. Bild claims Red Bull insist a parting is not imminent, though it adds a split cannot be ruled out if both sides reconsider and Klopp wants to return to coaching.

Klopp has been linked with the Real Madrid job and could also be considered to replace Julian Nagelsmann as Germany coach, depending on the outcome of this summer’s World Cup.

"At the moment, I would say no, but I can’t say ‘never, never, never’," Klopp said, speaking to Bulinews.com last month.

"If I feel it, I go again."
